Lady Brigade is a badass boutique located in Sarasota, Florida on a mission is to uplift and empower all women by providing the best selection of apparel, accessories and sassy gifts made by over 40 women-owned businesses from all across Florida, the United States and abroad.
Lady Brigade's Story
Lady Brigade was founded in 2014 by Nadine Noky, an Army veteran who was frustrated with the lack of female and feminine representation in military apparel. Nadine was tired of constantly being mistaken for the wife or sister of a veteran; she wanted to be able to show off her service in a creative way that expressed herself, while also building a stronger community for other lady veterans who were feeling the same way.
Nadine joined the military at seventeen years old, serving for five years as a Radar Technician in the Iraq War before leaving to pursue a degree and career in graphic design. Lady Brigade combines these two careers, as Nadine personally designs and curates many of Lady Brigade’s bold, feminine, and fierce products.
Lady Brigade began as a Facebook group for lady vets to find community and support, and Nadine is still actively involved in uplifting lady vets and is also working on a book to help vets ease back into success and happiness post-military. Nadine hopes that Lady Brigade will continue to serve as not only a place to buy unique apparel and accessories but also a communal space to bring together all lady veterans and civilians.
Lady Brigade is a way to honor those who serve our country every day, not just on holidays, and operates under Nadine’s personal mantra: “integrity, honesty, and discipline... Doing the right thing and seeing it through.”
